About SantaCon
SantaCon is an event, usually thrown by a local organization, that connects a mass gathering of people together who get to dress up in their interpretations of Santa Claus costumes and do performances in public on streets and in bars in various cities nationwide.
SantaCon events are often called by different names, such as naught Santas, Cheapsuit Santas, the Red Menace, Santapalooza, Santa Rampage and Santarchy. They are often cheerful, bawdy, and entirely harmless, with lots of naughty Christmas carols and gift giving to strangers.
The very first American SantaCon was in 1994 when the Cacophony Society had an American SantaCon in San Francisco.
