With the advent of December breeze, the whole nation is diverted towards carols and Santa gifts. While this is on the softer side of enjoyment, Santacon drives the enjoyment and fun to a greater height. Santacon, not alone in the core places of United States does the magic but also does it all over the world in vibrant colors. The local societies have showcased santacons in the main parts of America like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Detroit etc. By the year of 2003, the idea of santacon has got propagated to almost 30 cities in 3 to 4 countries.
By the start of 2005, the events were out of the control. More and more of crimes and riots dominated the crowd and fights started all over. This sort of a nationwide behavior has been reported to the website and there has been a lot of control over the happenings and events that succeeded after the 2003 Santacon. Soon after the recovery of fun and enjoyment in the following years, there was a controlled and well organized enjoyment that followed. Lot of innovative and creative events was then organized to enthrall the gathering.
There was hell a lot of involvement and participation from the people of United States in the mass gathering. No one does any work after that start of the seasonal enjoyment. Children were so very excited with the suspense of gift they would get. This culture of gifting people was soon followed not only by the neighboring countries, but also by the west and the Middle East.

Santa is Saint Nicholas but with hundreds of them, Nicholas turns to the Old Nick. On one such Santacon, the mob passes the streets as a red tide with much cheer and gaiety. As the time goes by, the crowd becomes more unruly and noisy. Word spreads that a pistol that had been retrieved from the road side by one of the Santas, is in possession of it. Soon the Santas were surrounded by patrol cars and a paddy wagon. The new and those who were quiet notorious quickly disappeared in the dark. With the corps putting on their riot gear and summoning for more paddy wagons, a senior Santa moved to them and initiated a parley with the Commander. Soon the chief cop cancelled the paddy wagons. The chief cop managed the higher officials by pronouncing it as a big party, a bit out of control. The Santas then boarded a town bus to the other side of the town to crash in at the Palace of the Legion of Honor for a Christmas bash.

A veteran artist tried to remove the mounting pressure by cracking a joke, but of no response. It was sure that most of them had made up their minds to get out of the mess. A few of them who participated in the SantaCon managed to remove their costumes and get off the bus. Finally as the bus came to a halt, all the Santas were lined up. The two who were considered responsible were handcuffed and the rest were released.

Santa paints the town red. Be it Yule tide, Santas can be spotted in market places, shopping malls, street corners, bars and in public square in the event called Santacon. Children are fond of Santas whether fat or lean short or shaggy wearing perfect outfit or in a cheap soiled one, it’s no matter as long as they are friendly and in merry mood. Santa Claus has other names like Father Christmas, Kris kringle and Saint Nick. Just a one letter shift makes Santa into satan.

A week before Christmas, the Cacophony Society had organized a Santacon. Imagine the sight of 100 santas in single size fit for $25 of the polyester blended Chinese prison made outfit, assembled at Embarcadero skating rink settling for a drink.. The organizers giving instructions through the loud bullhorn, the crowd started moving down the street like a red tide. Santas went to the same place the year before. Slowly the merry events of hand shaking and pleasant greetings changed to be much boisterous. Children were scared at the Yelling and screams of the angry Santas. In the hotels and bars, Santas helped themselves with other people’s food and beverages. Everywhere there was loud shouts and screaming. The crowd got vicious and whacked the sole of a Santa hanging from a lamplight with an over sized cane. Soon the Santas became ugly and indeed 100 is a big mob. When the crowd got out of control the security guards called for the cops. That’s how the cheap suit Santas turned into Satans.

The time for enjoyment has arrived! With tons of booze and millions of smiles, Santacon houses everything in a single box and opens it up at the time of action! Santa events are very well planned and being performed by various groups. It actually varies with the day and night timings. Some groups prefer to perform during the night time like a bar hopping. Some also do it as a day time activity. Whatever maybe the time, enjoyment and fun are the ultimate aims of the mass gathering. Some of the daytime events include singing Christmas songs, giving gifts to kids and collecting cash for charity.
Santacon events are being categorized with the taste of different age groups. There are not only soft games and events but also rugged ones. On the pile, apart from carol singing and dance, genres with rowdy and bizarre are also included. Each one has unique flavor and taste to be enjoyed. Each year, the events are well organized with great innovation and brilliance. There are many conventional events being organized which are open for all. So there is no need of recognition or a prior participation to perform! If you have the pulse to burn, you are given the fire!
So don’t wait for the trigger! The gun is already with you! Raise the trigger of passion and perform your action in Santacon!
